A little bit about Coralie...
I’ve always been curious. About everything. I love to travel, to learn new languages, to try new foods and meet new people. Many years ago I left my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand and headed off to Egypt. During the week I worked really long hours, and spent every weekend roaming the city exploring my fascinating new home and culture.
Pretty soon capturing my new life with my camera became so much more fulfilling than my work itself. Photography allowed me to share not only my adventures, but the stories of people that I met along the way.
Deciding it was time for a career change, I studied at the National College of Photography in South Africa. Since graduating I’ve been working as a freelance photographer. I’ve spent several years in Singapore, Russia, Germany and Hungary and am now based in the beautiful city of Melbourne, Australia.
Wherever I am, I love to explore and capture my surroundings. Travelling internationally and navigating new cultures has been inspirational and has broadened my horizons both professionally and personally. I love environmental portraiture, nature and travel photography. I love finding and capturing beauty within everyday subjects. This quote by John Constable really resonates with me:
“There is nothing ugly; I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may, – light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful.”
For me, this is at the heART of photography!
